Connecting Staff to WiFi

Prerequisites

• Berman Google account password to log into this site and submit the WiFi form.
• Berman computer password to log into the WiFi after registering your device.

Register your device

Before you can connect a device to the WiFi, it must be registered to your account. This is done by entering your device's MAC address into the system. You can use the directions below to find the MAC address for your device.

If you have trouble, please submit a help request.

iPhone/iPad

• Go to Settings -> General -> About and locate the WiFi Address.
• Submit your MAC address with the WiFi Form.

Android

• Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Status. Locate the Wifi MAC address field.
• Submit your MAC address with the WiFi Form.

Windows

• Click Start, type cmd, and press enter.
• Type ipconfig/all and press enter.
• Locate the entry for "Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi" and find the line that says "Physical Address".
• Submit your MAC address with the WiFi Form.

MacOS

• Go to System Preferences
• Click on Network, then Wi-Fi
• Click the Advanced button and locate the Wi-Fi MAC Address at the bottom.
• Submit your MAC address with the WiFi Form.

Chromebook

• Open a browser window. In the address bar, type chrome://system, and press Enter.
• Look for ifconfig, and then click the "Expand..." button next to it.
• Look for the wlan0 section. The MAC address will be listed after the word ether
• Submit your MAC address with the WiFi Form.

Logging in after your device is registered

If you have received confirmation that your device was registered, you can now log into the Berman-Staff network.

• Username: everything before @mjbha.org in your Berman email address
• Password: the password you would use to log into a Berman computer. This might be different than your email password.
• Check below for any special instructions for logging in with your device.

iPhone/iPad

• Go to Settings -> Wifi and locate the Berman-Staff network
• Tap on the Info button to the right of the Berman-Staff network name
• If there is a Private Address toggle switch, turn it to the off setting
• Tap Join this network
• Enter your username and password
• When prompted, tap Trust in the upper right corner
• When connecting, the wheel may continue to spin even the the Wifi icon has appeared at the top of your phone screen. This is ok and your phone is connected to the network once the icon appears.

Android

• Choose these options in the login form
  • EAP Method: PEAP
  • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • Online Certificate Status: Do not validate
  • Domain: mjbha.org
  • Identity: your username (without @mjbha.org)
  • Password: your Berman computer password
• Tap on Advanced and choose "Use device MAC" under Privacy

Windows

• Click on the WiFi icon in the lower right corner of your screen
• Click on Berman-Staff to log in
• When prompted to continue connecting, click Connect

MacOS

• Click on the WiFi icon in the upper right corner of your screen
• Click on Berman-Staff to log in
• When prompted about authentication, click Continue
• After entering your username and password to connect to the network, you may also be asked to enter your Macbook password to save the settings to your computer

Chromebook

• Click on the WiFi icon in the lower right corner, then click Berman-Staff
• Use the following settings:
  • EAP method: PEAP
  • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • Server Certificate: Do not check
  • Identity: your username (without @mjbha.org)
  • Password: your Berman computer password
